MOT (Ministry of Transport) testing is a visual inspection of your automobile, the inspection criteria is set by the Government agency DVSA, which is why the test is the same for all cars. This test checks whether or not the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition. It is not similar to the regular Car Repair Morecambe, the test doesn't inspect the car's general mechanical condition but there is a list of car parts that are checked during the assessment.
This examination is generally performed on vehicles over 3 years of age. A vehicle must be able to confirm a certain set of emissions and safety criteria, to pass this test. The requirements may differ according to the vehicle's age, class and size. The car may fail the test if any faults are identified in it as illegal or dangerous. After MOT failure, the car can be kept at the garage for repair and, again, go for a retest within 10 days.
Post passing the test, the vehicles are provided with an MOT certificate which is valid for 12 months from the expiry date of the previous certificate. It is important to note that driving with an expired certificate will charge you a penalty. So, if your MOT certificate's expiry date is near, enrol for an MOT test at Westgate Tyres. We are a team of highly professional technicians who provide authorized MOT.

Why do you need an MOT?
The purpose of the MOT assessment is to make sure that the vehicle is meeting the minimum safety level which is required by the law. Without a current MOT certificate, you will be restricted from driving your car lawfully and you won't be able to renew your road fund licence.
Also, if the vehicle has met with an accident, you will be asked to generate a new MOT certificate to be back on the roads. And, if you are seeking to claim an insurance policy after an injury, the claim will be affected because of the absence of an MOT certificate.
